I am so sorry to be asking such a ridiculously simple question, but I just haven't been able to figure out why this episode is titled "Inmates". Is it referring to the hitchhiking sign on the road or named after the comics? I apologize in advance for my stupidity.

I suppose because Glenn and Tara were left behind in the prison. They became inmates.

I thought it was a play from that sign as well. An analogy that they are all escaped "inmates" trying to "hitchhike" or find a way to escape their prison.

Probably cause they lived in a prison and the episode was about the rest of the group.

The survivors were all "inmates" living in the prison and then they all had to escape the prison after the governor's attack. It's a play on words.

I think they are making use of metaphor here. These people have lived in the security of a prison for so long, and now they are thrown out into the chaos of the world again. No security. No certainties. Escaped Inmates, wondering what can now become of their lives. And the sign drove it home. ::)

I kind of look at it a bit differently. I figure when you get thrown in prison, you're stuck with the people in your cell, whether you get along with them or not, and sometimes those people can be very different than you. The way the group split up made for some fairly random groupings, who are "stuck" with each other for the time being. That's what I got out of it, with the term "inmates" being somewhat of a metaphor.

Yes, it's the sign... But why show the sign? Why is it important?

By this logic the last episode should have been called Joe's Hot Sauce...

It is actually a word from an ancient, little known Swahili dialect pronounced "En mah tehs".. loosely translated it mean. "Who gives a sh!t" :zombies_lol:
