Deanna might be good at reading people but it turns out recognising damaged legs is her kryptonite.

 

Aiden led the runs, so I'll guess he picked out the members for his group. I think Aiden wanted to test the younger members of Rick's group; see who was tough, who could contribute, and to show them that while his mom was the leader in Alexandria, he was the leader when it came to matters outside the walls.

 

Yeah, his job didn't make a lot of sense. Frankly, I wouldn't have placed Maggie in her job either. I like Maggie, and she's not dumb, but she is about 4th or 5th down on the list of people I'd pick as my protégé for leadership.

 

Would they have a guy in a wheelchair going on runs? I think not. It's a simple matter of physical requirements. How bummed was Noah's leg? He walked with a limp, but he was still able?

Yeah I'd consider this a legitimate plot hole.

 

Maybe they purposely send a couple of weaker people to "Otis" in case things get out of hand

 

yet another writers' easy answer for convenience sake. if they wanted to kill off noah they couldn't very well do it if he's limping around asz taking notes. so, like allowing gabriel to tag along, and beth hiding scissors in her cast "just in case", they took the easy solution.

 

Or they could have just had him not have a leg injury in the first place and completely able. He was kinda just injured for the sake of being injured, and it wound up being inconvenient in the end.

 

Seemed to have no problem outrunning Tyreese.

It is a funny choice for runs though.

Exactly what I was thinking. They wanted someone who would be a easier target than them.

 

Maybe he wanted to contribute in that way? Maybe Glenn or Tara vouched for him?

also remember most of the people in ASZ don't know WTF they're doing. they haven't seen what's happening out there and how dangerous it is.

 

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I thought he was cooped up in the hospital for a year. They kept him doing laundry and cleaning; they didnt have him going on runs. So he wouldnt have anywhere near the experience that Ricks group did with dealing with "hairy" situations. He should have had another job.

 

On the other hand, Noah can handle a gun (a skill that is taken for granted in this show?) and can shoot well. And his limping is not overly severe. The ability to run fast is certainly a plus, but a smart brain is even more crucial. And Noah seems not to get panic easily. Contrasting with Aiden, Aiden got killed basically due to his panic, even though he can run fast.

 

He would of been no.1 choice had they needed someone to be assigned to limps or shuffles or hobbles.

 

Seems clear to me, these guys weren't looking for the most effective crew they were looking for the seemingly weakest members. Why? So that they would follow their orders, notice how they picked the youngest and least physically imposing?

These guys are scoundrels, the worst of Alexandria perhaps.

 

Glenn took him because they are "in it together". From the incident with Tyreese, Glenn should have known better. Noah's blood is on Glenn's hands.

 

Aiden wanted ones he thought he could push around, and Noah fit.
I do imagine that Deanna reviewed the videos and insisted that Glenn be take along for his experience and protection.
