I thought they were all alive when their throats got slit.. I thought they hit them with the bat so they would suffer more because of the fact the Termites turned into psycho killers.. But never thought about the fact that they did it to hit the brain so nobody of them would turn.. So I guess every hit was critital for the brain. In the Walking Dead is everything possible with a bat..

Seriously though, the Terminants killed those 4 guys and were planning on storing them for food. They wouldn't risk killing them and leaving the possibility they could turn before they could cut them up. They wouldn't want to eat tainted meat so yeah, I think the butcher knew where and how hard to hit them in the head, to make sure they couldn't turn.

 

Okay, so here's the real question: If all the blood runs out of your brain, can the ZA virus-whatever it is-still reactivate your brain stem? And a bigger question for Team Terminus is: is you need to drain the "meat" of all the blood, how in the heck does slitting people's throats while they are upright accomplish that. Should you hand them upside down over the trough and then whack them and slit their throats?

 

Maybe they did that later.. Remember the room where Rick and co. walked in right after they escaped their death? You saw a human corps hanging upside down. Fully stripped.

Too messy, they slit the throat over the trough so that the blood drains as opposed to going everywhere. Nice and tidy, just because you are completely insane doesn't mean you like messes haha.
