Exactly. I'm so NOT looking forward to this now that it can only be better than what I'm expecting.

World War Z does not make sense as a movie at all, unless they told the story of the narrator. Though it completely makes it a completely different story then.

This. The book is amazing because it tells the story from 10 years AFTER we have essentially won the war, it's not an epic drama filled narrative about one reluctant hero against the world. It's a critical and global perspective on how different countries social, political, and economic infrastructures hold up against the impending doom of the undead. I loved that it was so different than anything I had ever read about zombies, and I loved that it wasn't a narrative.

The movie, I am afraid, will ruin the book.

I agree. WWZ is an outstanding book. Not so great if you're more of a zombie killing action fan but it's AWESOME if you've ever thought about how the world would deal with a zombie outbreak! The world that Max Brooks created is just sooo rich with details. And mostly plausable ones at that...

Yes I can already see that the movie is nothing like the book and completely destroys it with running CGI zombies. It's terrible I had such high hopes for the movie.

Just finished this book and really liked it. I'm also looking to get into a more fictional type of book with characters and development about the ZA. But one as good as WWZ. Any suggestions?

There is very little that was as exciting to read as World War Z. I think this may be the best possible zombie fiction, but I would really enjoy something a little more light-hearted and comical like Shaun of the Dead put to pen. I don't know, does anyone know anything like this?

Do you think that World War Z would be good as a serialized graphic novel? Or does something like that already exist?

I've just bought the book! I usually don't read a lot of books, but this is an exception because it looks very interesting. I already had searched for it, but hadn't found it earlier. I think it is just released in Dutch at the same time as the release of the movie (which I want to see too).

Fair warning, see the movie first. Then read the book, you'll love it...
