I've just downloaded the book onto my kindle, should I read the zombie survival book first ?

Or is world war z completely separate to the zombie survival book ?

I have the book, but I'm also confused on whether you need to read the Zombie Survival Guide before WWZ.

No, the survival guide is full of survival tactics against zombies, plus general survival skills. The WWZ book is a collection of eyewitness accounts collected after the zombie war. If you're into zombies, you'll like both of them, no matter which one you read first.

it doesn't matter. Survival guide is just a survival guide.

WWZ was okay.. some of the stories were good, others were pretty weak. all and all its an okay read, but not deserving of the hoopla that surrounds it.

yes I dared go there. LOL

I watched this movie earlier today. I think the idea that the zombies, during massive breakouts of chaos, while running lickity split through crowds,
is ridiculous. Overall, it was a run-of-the-mill zombie flick, I thought.

No need for the S.Guide. But when you're done with WWZ call me, we'll grab some lunch and compare notes;)

I'll check out Amazon and see if I can get an audio version of the book so I can listen to the audio book at the same time I'm working.

I really really enjoyed this! Some of the moments were horrifying :zombies_mad: Most of the interviews could really stand alone as short stories, but together it is like a tapestry of zombie terror

So much different than what I usually read, which is long series.

I prefer the book than the movie itself.

I listened as an audiobook. The Voice acting on the unabridged version was PHENOMINAL. The voice actor list reads like a who's Who of hollywood too. Clearly being the son of Mel Brooks opens some doors.

I've read the book 3 times and I'm now onto the audiobook and my God is it great. The voice acting, everything. Just wow. It's sparked a new appreciation. So many cool parts of the book and the detail is phenomenal, I'd recommend this book to anyone, I never seem to get bored of it.

The journalistic format of the book makes it ideal for making it into a TV series. Wish HBO would take it up.
