The gang likely spent their off time getting high and getting drunk. That really effects decision making and reaction time.

 

There were a lot of zombies down there, probably 100-200 maybe, so it probably freaked them out knowing they were trapped. Once someone ran, the rest of the gang followed, leaving Marco and Antonio shooting at them. With their firepower running away, they ran to avoid being swarmed. Guess everyone freaked out and tried to flee instead of fighting. As a result, they all got killed quickly.

Also, the three bandits on the highway in 2x08 were a different gang, La Manas as referred to by Sofia in the beginning of the episode. Gael the leader and another bandit are the ones eaten and the third runs away and we never see him again. Marco's gang is Los Hermanos aka the Narcos.

 

Not sure if the guys from Grotesque were attached to Marco's gang, but they take the award for worst survivors ever

 

What came first, The worst survivors or the worst writers?

 

Apparently all gangs have a really hard time running away from really slow moving zombies that are 50 yards away.

 

Yeah if Mexican drug gangs were this easy to kill we would'a won the war on drugs a decade ago! It was one of the sillier moments in the episode, but I let it slide as it was only there to show Nick's craftiness, and Alejandro's redemption. So I accepted it for what it was.

 

Apparently there aren't any dumpsters in La Colonia.

 

The whole place was a dumpster.

 

Yeah, I find it hard to believe that Cartel members had a hard time taking down a bunch of slow walkers that were being funneled right to them. Also, did none of the Cartel members know how to climb things? They could've lived if they climbed on top of something to give them a little time to figure things out.

 

Remember when the 2 gang members got bitten while shooting at the herd that Nick was on the road with? Three guys in a working Jeep with guns, and two of them were taken down by the slowest walkers ever.
