Follow some squirrels and steal from them when they are digging up from their stash?

Acorns - and especially flour made from acorns - are a survival stable. They are very common, easily recognizable, and full of protein. And acorn flour can pretty much be substituted for regular flour.

The only thing is - most acorns are extremely bitter. So part of the preparation usually involves soaking them in water overnight to leach out the tannins. Prepared properly - they are nutty and delicious.

    Just bought acorn flour

I just bought acorn flour online--to labor intensive and time consuming to do myself, in addition to collecting acorns. I am looking forwarding to making cookies when it arrives. I'll post pix.
