I thought the dialogue in this episode was awful. Especially between Rick and Aaron.
And Ricks plan to drive at night was just stupid and nobody said BS Rick let's wait until dawn

There is and always will be a bias to positive feedback on this forum (albeit I agree with such feedback for episode 11) because it is what it is. A walking dead forum.

They introduced two new characters, got from the barn to Alexandria, and had a bunch of action on the way. Don't see that as slow.

I think there is a lot of respect for Rick as their leader but they also defer to him because there is a bit of fear/concern because of he mental state he is in. Like when Aaron said Rick would have to shoot him to keep him away from his boyfriend and then started walking. Glenn stopped him because he knew Rick was likely to shoot and kill Aaron right there. Aaron underestimated the reality that Rick really would shoot him in that instance. Glenn knew better and knows there is no bluff in Rick at this point.

I think there have been times during the show when that criticism would have been legitimate. But if anything, I'd say the last three episodes have been a rush to get from Georgia to Alexandria. Now I think they could have written Aaron's initial meeting with the group a little better. But a lot happened last night.

Yeah, it should go back to the unpredictable ways the older seasons. I mean, who knew the governor would turn out to be evil? If only they could surprise us like good old times.

Agree with OP, not on this episode in particular, but on the pace in general. Love the show, but it always seems to take awhile to get the momentum going after the mid-season finale. Just my opinion, of course.

WHAWGO and Them were slower paced, but I didn't mind. Both focused more on characters than action, which is a good thing. I like some slower paced episodes. Yesterday's episode was a lot faster paced with a lot of action though. Still some good character moments.

My only real complaint is that I wish we saw more of a mix of character moments and action coexisting, rather than often alternating between "character episodes" and "action episodes."

I think they did that last night. They had lots of character moments but they were mostly focused around Glenn, Rick , and Michonne. They kind of have to limit the character focus when they are going to have action because there are so many characters. Or else you will have about a minute of development per character in each episode.

Yep, that's what made episodes like last night's so good. They focus on a few characters, with some more exciting scenes as well. Solid.

S2 was great for character development but it sure could have used a little more "action" mixed in. At least in the immediacy of watching it as a self contained season.

When you watch the show in one of the many marathons we're treated to, it really does all flow together excellently IMO, and the S2 feels like both the "calm after the storm" of S1 and the "calm before the storm" of the events of S2E13 leading into the time lapsed before we pick up the story in S3E1 again.

There has been some slow parts to recent episodes, but i really dont know what people are expecting from the series, why rush TWD?
I love the build up to each dramatic event that occurs. I also appreciate the character building, if we didnt have this we wouldnt really care what happens to them

It's funny because people were saying that Terminus was wrapped up far too quickly and was over with too fast. Now they're saying it's dragging? lol...

Right, part of the reason the show is so good is because it takes its time. Do we want it to turn into something like Z Nation where each new threat is wrapped up neatly [and illogically] by the end of the same episode in which it was introduced? The entire second half of S4 [which I enjoyed] involved them basically just walking on railroad tracks and dealing with their emotions. Now, within the last 4 episodes, we have lost a main character, travelled 500 miles to a safe zone, discovered it was overrun, lost another main character, met a new group of people, travelled another 100 miles, and arrived at another safe zone. In a little over 3 episodes. And now its slow??

The last three episodes were amazing, even though 510 was a bit slower, but powerful. There's always action, more or less, it doesn't matter. Walker kills are getting better and better from season to season, and producers experiment on lots of new thangs. The last five episodes will definitely be awesome.

I've absolutely loved the last three episodes, and I can't wait for the last five. The last three episodes have been a good pace for me. I know there are going to be complaints about the last five episodes being slow, but I would honestly be completely fine if they take their time with things in Alexandria. I've actually been worried for a while that they'd rush to

hold on a minute I think you've misunderstood me, I completely agree with what you've just said there, I'm happy with how much is being covered in each episode and I wouldn't want the show rushing through these important themes I just find there's a couple of slow scenes in these last few episodes, but last nights was one of my favourite this series.

You didn't notice this during the 2nd half of Season 4? This show is in no rush....
