Those aren't any of the best episodes the show has had, but I now have faith becuase Gimple is at the helm. Always nice to have a new writer on the show, we'll see how it turns out. This episode seems like it's going to be amazing.

ARROW ON THE ****ING DOORSHIT? Oh lord... save me...

Then again if a Kang episode is amazing under Gimple reign, this could be to.

I think the writing will be the most important thing. I don't notice directors works that much. Usually the writing is more obvious.

The premise wasn't bad in the episode, I mean some of the moments between Rick and the Governor was pretty good. It was basicly a filler though, as was the next episode was the worst episode of season 3 imo.

Arrow on the doorpost though wasn't bad directing, it was just horribley written.

Secret was a great episode in terms of both writing and directing. Arrow on the Doorpost on the other hand ... I'm sure this won't be like that.

Lol the director directed my two most disliked episodes.

But hopefully the new writer does it.

It could be directing actually. I've seen movies that has good actors but possibly bad directing (The Happening is an example). An actor might do a scene but wasn't at his/her best for the first shot, but then the director says it was good enough when it really wasn't. There hasn't really been a scene where there was real bad acting but Andrew Lincoln broke his southern accent when he was crying on the phone in 3x05 Say the Word. The director could have had him try to take it again. (I'm sure they did, masking your original accent can be hard especially when cry acting).

Possible, but I doubt it really. If writing is awful it tends to be a lot more apparent and have a much bigger impact to an overall show than a slight accent slip. Personally I liked "Secrets" a lot, directing seemed fine to me. I didn't care much for Arrow On The Doorpost - but that was because the whole episode was generally flat and not much interesting was said overall.

Arrow on the door post is one of the weakest episodes of season 3 :/ And 'secrets' aint good either.

The direction was alright in both episodes. Lasepisode's writer was good and he was a newbie. Scott Gimple likely reads over the scripts as they write them and Kirkman is supposedly heavily involved this season so i have faith. There were suprisingly some well done Scenes inArrow on the doorpost but the Problem was that the writing didn't allow for them to expand past that.

Although what i really want is another Episode from the director of 18 Miles Out

Channing Powell did a great job for this episode. I think she might stay with the crew this season since she didn't work for them before.

I'm noticing a pattern of new or mostly considered weaker previous writers and directors killing it this season. They are definitely more organized.

The writing was especially fantastic in this episode (perfect blend of meaningful conversation and comedic relief), which I think was also aided by the fantastic acting.

That was probably the best filler episode ever.

    Gimple also wrote it.
I personally thought it was absolutely perfect
