I like to GB a lot, but until they come out with what guns and perks will be banned, I'll be using this class:

    Primary: MSBS w/Fore Grip, Silencer
    Secondary: None
    Lethal: None
    Tactical: None

    Perks:
    Stalker (3)
    Focus (2)
    Amplify (2)
    Dead Silence (2)
    Gambler (1)

I've unlocked most weapons and perks on my first soldier and I still have no idea what my best setup is. I'm finding changing styles quite a struggle.

My main one at the moment is
    MSBS w/auto fire
    I.E.D
    Stalker
    Quickdraw
    Marathon
    Gambler

It's quite strange not using focus as it was my only permanent perk in BO2, I think it's quite pointless with the quick TTK.

Wiretap is very good when I ran it on my SMG class as I can drop quickdraw. I run support with satcom as my only streak, pretty much constant UAV. I also like using agility I can notice quite an improvement.

If anyone wants a good close range setup, try using the Ping+Amplify combo. Get the radar with Ping and still locate those using Off the Grid by their footsteps.

Stop the presses, I have THE best class in the game.

MK14 + red dot sight + flash suppressor
    P226 + silencer
    Stalker + Quickdraw + Amplify + Focus
Streaks optional, but personally I'm running Guard Dog (because he's hilarious and awesome), Sentry Gun and Maniac (most fun I've had on a game in years)

Because of how quick people die, the game is pretty spray-and-pray friendly, but for those of you who have the accuracy to pull it off, the MK14 is the best gun in the game. If you liked the FAL/SMR/M8 in BO2, you'll love this gun. 2 shot kill from across the map, it's madness.

I picked one up that was dropped by a poor sap in that camp room or tower, whatever. Silenced and had a red dot. Did pretty well with it.

MK14 was by far my favorite gun in MW3. Just pop pop, and down they go. I'll definitely be using it in Ghosts once I get the game.

Yep the MK14 is pure smut.

If you want something automatic, the AK-12 is straight up pimp. Recoil plot for it is barely bigger than the SC-2010's which is ACR accurate.

The Remington R5 is nasty too, it has a slower fire-rate than the AK-12, with similar damage which is why the AK get's the edge. Although the Remington does have recoil, it is so predictable and easy to control because of the slow fire-rate.

I did some range tests with the Ak-12 and Remington yesterday. Wanted to see the best Deadeye setups. Don't want to spoil anything, but you might want to test them with the Muzzle Brake (no semi-auto mode necessary) yourself.

I was basically only using this class and even got the SC-2010 gold earlier today.

    SC-2010
    Silencer + Extended mags
Ready up, Quickdraw, Stalker, Focus and Hardline

Last hour or so I switched it up and was going back and forth between these 2 classes. Still haven't figured out which one I like more.

    Honey Badger
Grip + Extended mags + Red dot
Stalker, Quickdraw, Focus, and Extra attachment

    SA-805
Grip + Red dot + Silencer
Stalker, Quickdraw, Focus and Extra attachment.

I don't like the Honey-Badger - I'm an AK-12, ARX-160, SC-2010 and Remi R5 user. Not sure for the XBOX players out there, but on PS3 with vibrate enabled, the Honey badgers characteristics feel really good, vicious, and powerful - anyone else noticed this?

Honey Badger is very common on Xbox.

Also, how effective/noticeable is Deadeye? Should I start using it? I don't wanna use the squad points if it pointless. I figured you'd be the best person to ask. I'm average, but can hold my own, FYI.

If you're good at holding a Specialist streak, it is nothing but useful. But you have to use it on the right weapons. Will be posting more about it in regards to the best ones.

    *Edit*

You said your go-to gun is the Remington. Use it with Deadeye.

Okay, I'll try it. I just know it takes awhile to get it to work making me wonder if it's really that useful.

The Dead-Eye bullets grant 40% more damage - and if you're not sure how you get the 40% more damage, I've tried to explain it below

    At:

    - 0 kills/ the base perk: 12% of bullets are "Dead-Eye Bullets" (so 1 out of 8 bullets you fire feature the 40% increased damage, magic bullets)

The firing pattern is random - it doesn't mean your 1st, 9th, and 17th bullet will be the "magic 40% bullets" you could get 2 "magic 40% bullets" at once or none at all, but the probability works out to be about 1 in 8 - assume this same principal for below as the streak develops.

    After

    - 1 kill: 16% of bullets you fire are the Dead-Eye bullets so roughly 1 in 6

    - 2 kills: 33% of bullets fired, i.e 1 in 3 bullets, so roughly 10 out of a 30-mag, will feature "magic 40% bullets"

    - 3 kills: 40% of bullets fired will be the magic bullets i.e 2 out of 5.

    - 4 Kills: 50% of bullets will be the magic bullets - so half of your bullets!

After 4 kills the probability remains at 50% until death - at which point streaking restarts.

I love the perk - but have worked out that the SC2010 isn't necessarily the best gun to use it with as the SC2010's highest damage is 35, with a 40% increase the damage becomes 49 - meaning it is still a 3HK therefore not benefiting unless multipliers are factored in or distance drop-offs. You will get a quicker time to kill though, you're effectively using a 750RPM AK-12, that is more accurate - which has it's benefits - however a gun like the AK-12 or Remi R5 really sees the benefit and takes base max damage of 49 (IIRC) up to nearly 70 for each magic bullet in range. Phenomenal - 2HK potential.

    And that range is amazing.

The magic numbers are 42 maximum and 27 minimum. 42 nets the two bullet kill before damage drop off, while 27 will likely be a three bullet kill (needs one Deadeye shot).

So, for assault rifles, you're better off using the AK-12, Remington R5, Honey Badger, and ARX-160 on Deadeye classes. The others get very little from it.

Indeed, I've just been doing some maths myself.

    Thanks!

I.E.Ds are insane. Way better than bettys and they take some beating!! And considering no one is running blast shield It virtually guarantees you a kill if you can stay alive long enough and know where to put them, and it pisses people right off, whats not to like? :D

I hate the I.E.D. Luckily, not too many players use it...yet.
