Embedding Youtube Videos

With the change of forum software, from VBulletin to Xenforo, this changes the way you're able to embed videos.

    Key things to note:

-Youtube is not the only site from which you can grab videos from anymore. You can also use videos from Dailymotion, Facebook, Liveleak, Metacafe, and Vimeo.

-The is no longer valid. The proper tag is .

-You must set the value to whatever site you're going to use in the tag. So a tag for Youtube will be [MEDIA.=YOUTUBE][/MEDIA.] (NO PERIODS)

-Full video URLs (from the valid sites) will embed the video automatically.

-You can also do it manually with the Media button in the editor.

    To use the Media option:

    • Step One: Copy the full link of the video.

    • Step Two: Click [IMG]

    • Step Three: Paste the YouTube link into the window that pops up.

    • Step Four: Enjoy your fancy YouTube post.

If you're doing it manually, make sure you input only the Video ID within the MEDIA tags.

also if you want to embed the HD version so it plays by default instead of the gawd awful 360/480p version then add "?hd=1&vq=hd720" or whatever the highest resolution of the video might be.
    standard:

    eeeeeeegad...............default play @ 360p

if wanting to play at highest resolution, 720p being the highest res of this video, then it must look like this:

of course replacing the * with / ~ this applies to any video that has HD quality even for vids in sigs ;) and for your future COD vids in 720/1080p. After all if you went to the troube of rendering it in 1080p then your audience should see it in 1080p by default.

    hope this helps...

It has been mucking up for me. I have tried linking using the method mentioned (which worked fine but then) and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't link the vid just the click to link. I tried yesterday in the song listening thread and only recieved the link and not the video.
