Tim Curry Will Be In Fox’s Rocky Horror Remake
The bad news is that Fox is making their own TV version of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, which they will surely muck up; the good news is that the original Sweet Transvestite, Tim Curry, will be gracing it with his presence. Fox announced this during their TCA conference today.
He won’t be playing his original role of Frank N. Furter though. Someone named Laverne Cox has been hired for that. The new lineup also includes Victoria Justice as Janet Weiss, Ryan McCartan as Brad Majors, Staz Nair as Rocky, “Penny Dreadful’s” Reeve Carney as Riff Raff ans Adam Lambert as Eddie. Executive producers are Lou Adler, Gail Berman, and Kenny Ortega.
What room does that leave for Curry then? He’s going to be the Criminologist Narrator, which fits a man who’s had a robust voice acting career ever since the 1975 original. “I am very happy and excited to be a part of this new event,” Curry said in a public statement.
Like it or not, the Rocky Horror remake will appear this fall on the Fox network. At least Ryan Murphy isn’t directing.
