New Glitch In The Division Hurts Ubisoft This Time
It’s enough to make you believe in the karmic balance: Ubisoft’s latest update to repair the glitch that was meant to repair another glitch introduced another glitch, and this time, it’s the publisher that’s mad. This new bug works in the players’ favor, so much so that it has the potential to break the game balance.
A new raid entitled “Falcon Lost” was introduced to The Division on April 12. Gamers have discovered that at a certain point during the mission, they can clip through a wall, bypass the boss battle entirely and scoop up the loot for free. And then do it again, and again, and again….
Ubisoft is vowing to ban anyone who they suspect of using this cheat before they can patch it up….but that may be a lot of people. When the bug was initially discovered, the players with overpowered gear had such an unfair advantage that other players felt pressured into using the cheat just to catch up. There have been many reports of groups that no longer allow players who haven’t bulked up via the cheat yet, because it had to be assumed their opponents have used it.
Throwing the banhammer on ALL these people will just create another PR mess. Why Ubisoft didn’t just simply shut down the mission as soon as the glitch was discovered is just one of their many mysteries. As of now, the cheat is still active.
