New Halo 5 Audio File Hints At Master Chief's Origin
If you recall, the Halo 5 promotional ad that debuted during the Walking Dead season finale last week had the hashtag “#HuntTheTruth” displayed at the end. “Hunt the Truth” is the name of Microsoft’s viral campaign for the game, which has been slowly trickling out information.
“Hunt the Truth” is also, by no coincidence, the name of a series of audio files being uploaded to Soundcloud by a mysterious person (maybe someone living in OUTER SPACE). The files are narrated by Benjamin Giraud, a fictional investigative reporter voiced by Keegan-Micahel Key, and he’s searching for the truth (you might say hunting for it) and broadcasting whatever he can find out. “For decades, I’ve served the galaxy as a journalist and war photographer,” he says. “I’ve covered human-interest stories on Earth and in the Inner and Outer Colonies. I’ve also contracted for the government, covering military affairs. I was at New Mombasa when the Master Chief first appeared to combat the Covenant attack.”
“An obscure record from the far reaches of the galaxy contradicts everything,” reads a line from the episode’s description. “Government officials and conspiracy theorists weigh in. Stories of a remarkable young man are once again torn down by conflicting accounts.”
Benjamin makes the claim that he has proof a boy named John, the John who grew up to become Chief, actually……(spoilers censored here). You will have to listen to know more, and decide for yourself what is true.
