One of the Heads of Visceral Has Left EA
And so the merry-go-round of game development continues, another top executive has left their position in a major gaming company. Today, it’s Steve Papoutsis of Visceral that has moved on.
Papoutsis was the Executive Producer of Battlefield Hardline, a game that has made headlines in numerous ways, and yet has still sold many copies despite its troubles. He was also the General Manager of Visceral itself. He also heavily contributed to the Dead Space series.
As is par for the course, his role has been filled rather quickly. In this case, it is by Scott Probst, who is actually the son of a former EA executive.
EA themselves had this to say on the departure, furthermore clarifying initial reports about whether Papoutsis was fully removing himself from Visceral or EA or just moving to another position that wasn’t specified.
“We are thankful for Steve’s many contributions to EA and wish him the best.”
It is unclear at the moment was caused this shakeup within Visceral so soon after the launching of Battlefield Hardline, if we hear any new news on the reasoning, or if this is just the first of many departures to come, we will let you know.
Battlefield Hardline is available now for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
