Sony Selling The PS4 At $300 For Nearly The Entire Holiday Season
One of the most common deals of Black Friday and Cyber Monday was the $300 game console. The Playstation 4 and XBox One were just recently lowered to $349, but just about every major retailer got the idea to hack another $50 off that price to attract shoppers. The massive increase in sales must have convinced Sony to extend the sale on their end a little longer.
The company announced today that the Playstation 4 would retail for $299 in the United States from December 6 to December 19. This deal includes both the Star Wars Battlefront and the Uncharted Collection bundles. It couldn’t come at a better time now that the generational transition is finally seeing movement. A lot of gamers who were initially put off by the PS4 and XBox One’s high prices (not to mention lack of decent titles in their first year or so) are feeling itchy to finally take the plunge on a new console. If you’re one of them, and you can foot a $300 bill, now might be the time to get a PS4.
But if the XBox is more to your taste, and you missed Black Friday, you might want to wait a couple days. Microsoft may blink on this standoff and slash the XBox One to the same price for the same length of time — and if they do we’ll let you know.
