Unexpected Bug May Delay House Of Wolves For Destiny
Last week Destiny developer Bungie released a patch for the game, Version 1.2.0. — partly to fix some glitches and partly to lay the groundwork for the second DLC pack, House of Wolves, which is rapidly approaching on May 19. Unfortunately, the patch wound up introducing a pretty severe glitch on its own.
Bungie was not specific about what kind of bug this is, how it’s activated or what it does, but you don’t have to worry about running across it in your current game. No players are currently affected because the patch hasn’t been activated yet. But since all resources will now be allocated to getting this bug repaired, House of Wolves may have to be delayed until the programmers can give the all-clear.
Bungie community manager Deej, of Destiny YouTube video fame, said on Bungie’s website that “I’ve spoken with the finest minds at Bungie about Update 1.2.0 just moments ago. They’re working to correct a late-breaking technical issue that would have impacted the way the game launches for a large portion of you. Progress is being made.”
He went on to assure the gameplaying public, “We’ll be sharing new details on the deployment schedule that leads to House of Wolves as soon as they become facts. At the very least, you’ll hear from me once a day about this. Hang in there, and thank you for your patience.”
Currently no delay is planned for House of Wolves, but it is unknown how long the repairs will take.
