XBox One BC List Updates With Halo Wars And More
The list of XBox 360 games playable on the XBox One continues to grow. Today Halo Wars, Soul Calibur 2 and The King Of Fighters ’98 were all added to the backwards compatibility list, joining Dark Souls, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Assassin’s Creed, which were added last week. Still waiting on Red Dead Redemption.
To refresh your memory, Halo Wars isn’t really a Halo game in the traditional sense: it’s a real-time strategy game with an overhead view. It was released in 2009 for the 360, received positive reviews, and did well enough for a sequel to be announced at Gamescom last year. The servers for the game are still active, though reportedly low in attendance at the moment (when BC kicks in that should change).
Recently Microsoft made it possible to buy XBox 360 games on the BC list directly through the marketplace, and through this method play them without a disc.
