Zeke: I'm slowly, painfully dying of a disease that was easily curable 10 years ago. This after I lost my Wife of 6 years due to our adopted Son having his head cut off.

To be fair, he's lost everyone too, as he was found alone. Must have carried some good old standard humming survivor's guilt already. Then the very person who saved him and brought him to Team Family, died because of him. Massive survivors guilt boost. Then he gets to spend a night with Rosita who bounces off into Gabriel's arms. With Siddiq's baby. And then comes the Mother of All Survivors Guilt, watching* ten people executed in horrendous brutal ways and him spared to tell the tale. (*at best just watching) Well, I think this guy is well equipped for sympathy and empathy.

Goodness, all our main characters are. It's a miracle any of them can still function at any level. You can watch this show as therapy, to make your problems disappear into insignificance compared to what these dudes have been through and "yet, they smile".
