I never cared that much about the DC scavengers, but the way they've translated it to the show (if that's what they're doing with the "Wolves") is amazing. It's so creepy to have a villain that we see hints of before they're actually encountered by Rick's group.

I think they're going to stretch that story out for the TV show, it might even take up most of the final episode. One of the reasons I didn't really care about the Wolves in the comic is that it was all over so quickly and they didn't really do any damage (directly, at least). They could have these guys go full-on siege warfare against Alexandria, trapping everyone inside and knocking down parts of the wall. That could pave the way for the mega-horde as well.

and they are either going to bring the herd as a weapon-ized device (hence the W and hacked up Ws at Shirewilt) or come after the Herd. The wolves thing is being teased ever since the dog showed up on Beth and Daryl's porch
