Not a fan of how TWD showed Carl being bitten, shot in the eye, dying during the RIP flashback on Talking Dead. It's a slap in the face IMO. You don't show people a video of how someone died at their funeral so why did they decide to show that? It's a memorial to show the good of Carl so people can reminisce and celebrate him.

 

Interesting point. I think TD wanted to capture Carl's entire life arc. TWD captured more of just the love.

Goodbye Carl. Although I never considered you a fav of mine, I somehow hoped the whole show would end with you presiding over a society of peaceful communities, recounting how it all started back in a camp in Atlanta to your own children, or maybe some future historian. I am legit bummed today to know that's not going to happen.

Even though you were a savior, you weren't a total dick. I bet you were a warehouse foreman, pre ZA.

 

It's funny but I had thoughts along similar lines. I had hoped he was the future, having grown up during the ZA but old enough to remember the way it was. Verra bummed myself.
