Im guessing due to it being a MSF and people are curious about the whisperers, we will get a small bump over last week. 5.72 million.

Closest guesser gets a one year subscription to Netflox, Netflix for birds.

I am guessing around the same number. 5.7
But I think it’s because they want to see who, if any, dies tonight.

    Some perspective.

AMC just renewed Preacher for another season. Last season's finale had 1.01 million viewers and the season averaged .854 million.

TWD is doing just fine, it's 5 million viewers still makes it a screaming success.

Yeah its still AMC's flagship show. They wouldn't be talking about 10 more years of a TWD universe if they were giving up on the series. It worries me a little that they are talking so much about companion projects, though. Companion projects are great and all, but I'd like to see them keep their main focus on making the main show great.

But as for the ratings, they are only "rocky" when you compare them to TWD's golden years. Most cable shows would kill to have 5 millions viewers. In fact, almost all of them would. AMC has renewed scripted shows that have averaged around 0.5 million viewers. Granted, they put a lot of money and effort into TWD, they have quite a large talented cast to pay, and they built entire communities of sets from scratch, sometimes just to tear them back down after a year, so sure they expect TWD to do better than average. But they aren't closing the doors on a 5 mil show. I'd be surprised if we didn't see season 11 or 12.

The numbers aren't bad, considering we're in rebuild mode. Actually, I think we're in pretty good shape. Slow and steady. I've stopped counting all the comments I've heard/read from former viewers who are going to binge it over the holidays because of what they're hearing. Numbers for 9B will be very interesting.

Happy about Preacher. That show's nuts and I love it!

Yea, I don't think many people here are talking shit about the ratings. That's more of an internet thing, social media and whatnot. People talking about how the show is dying and won't make it much longer. I just thought it was interesting that AMC sees a show that gets just around 1mil per episode as being successful but media outlets are calling TWD a dying show because they lost viewers....yet still gets 5x as many viewers as other shows they are still making.

I agree with the companion stuff. I think this is sort of the "Marvel effect", and TWD is not alone in taking this approach. Star Wars being another with their anthology movies and planned non-story trilogies.

I fear that properties like this can spread themselves too thin. At some point people start becoming numb to it all and the exclusivity goes away.

@PepperAnn, you're gonna love it! It deals a lot with Jesse's...bizarre...upbringing, and let's just leave it there.

And Satan's a hoot! (Yes, I actually wrote that.)

    And Betty Buckley!

    And Humperdoos! Humperdoos for everyone!

    You will NOT be disappointed.

And may I also say, while on the subject, that Pip Torrens might just be the best thing to happen to television since color. Soooooooooo good!
