I became a fan of merle ever since season 1.

 

Some of the best lines from the show belongs to Merle. He's a god damn legend.

 

Can't say I ever liked Merle. He just wasn't a good person. Probably not as evil as the Governor, but still, he deserved to die.

 

Merle didnt deserve to die, no one does. If he hadnt gotten drunk, I think he might have beat TG. He just needed someone to guide him and ignore him.

“You go on, give him that girl. He ain’t gonna kill her, you know. He’s just going to do things to her. Probably take out one of her eyes, both of them most likely. You’d let that happen for a shot. Whew! You’re cold as ice, officer friendly.”

 

Even though he did ALOT of things without thinking, he was still a good character and a good brother to Daryl

he was pretty cool during season 1, but after what he was doing in season 3, i started to hate him. but he redeemed himself in the end. now i miss him. they should bring him back, through a hallucination or something. just show merle pregnant, and in a white dress.

I'm even gonna bother watching that movie. It's probably close to topping The Human Centipede.

 

Merle was a good character for the show...I think the ep where he and Michonne are in the car (trying not to give a spoiler cos I don't know how to use the drop down - if someone can tell me, that'd be great) is an episode which could have stretched out more and shown even more of his personality...

 

I like the actor - he's cool, but I love to hate Merle. Except for loyalty to Daryl, he has hardly any positive attributes.

 

Merle was brilliant, not only because of Michael Rooker but as a character you need someone the other characters find disgusting and he was Daryls brother that was all the motivation he needed for anything, he could have had his redeeming story arc stretched over an entire half season without getting boring, it was a complete cop out to rush it through one episode, and then getting rid of Michael Rooker, it was actually one of the biggest mistakes made in season 3, there were a few but Merle really had so much more potential before he was killed off, which he did have to die eventually though

 

I agree. Due to his sudden demise, he will remain a mystery to all of us, not just himself.

I hated him less than Dale, but for the most part I'm glad that dick is gone.
