I honestly can’t understand how people can overlook the fact that our country is already “socialist”.
Those who complain about it forget that we already have:
VA, military, public schools, libraries, police, fire depts, public transport, FCC, EPA, FDA, NOAA, FEMA, NASA, pell grants, GI Bill, subsidized housing, dept of agriculture, census bureau, CIA, public parks, vaccines, dept of transportation, the White House upkeep, and many many more programs.

I wonder how many of these programs people would be willing to get rid of.

Because of Hope Hicks testing positive, Donald and Melania have also tested positive.

Norway, Sweden, and Denmark all have free-market business rules, IOW they get their income from a CAPITALIST system. A good example of modern socialism where socialism really controls everything? Venezuala, or the former USSR both rich in natural resources and both ending up with more poverty than they started with. Not places one would want to live. Not places one would want to emulate in the U.S.

Shocking. Hopefully, he, Melania and Hicks recover without incident.

Along with everyone aboard marine 1 and AF1. At his Minnesota rally and debate.
And hopefully, he will now understand the reason behind wearing a mask

The families were all told to wear masks at the debate site. Thee Bidens did, but of course the Trump klan did not.

So now everyone at the debate has to be worried until 10/13, when the 14 day window passes, that they might've caught COVID from these slimeballs. It's revolting.

I'm guessing the families were far enough apart, but my prime concern at this stage would be Biden and Wallace who were in range of the aerosolized vomit spewed from that thing at the podium. Then how many people working at the site came into contact with that trashy Trump family as they strutted around without masks.

The country too is an even bigger laughingstock to the world now with this latest debacle. It's like a billboard to how horrendously COVID has been handled here.

The real take home lesson for me is just how contagious this thing is. The WH people close to Trump get tested literally every day, and he still contracted it.

The other BIG thing we need to know is the safety of being on an airplane. At this point, at least, it seems the Trumps may have contracted this on AF1. If others on AF1 are sick as well -on AF1- I would become very hesitant to take a commercial airliner for the foreseeable future.

Biden wasn't wearing a mask at the debate, so if he contracts it it's his own fault for being a slimeball, right? Isn't that how it works?

According to Donald on Hannity last night, Hicks got it because she is huggable, and blamed either a cop or military guy, for hugging her.
None the less, I hope they now encourage social distancing and masks

That’s the difference between Democratic Socialism and plain Socialism. I could live comfortably in any Scandinavian country, I believe.

Then you believe in capitalist control of business, not socialism, per se.

BTW, if you do move to Scandanavia, beware about walking alone anywhere. They've had their quality of life take a real nosedive since admitting a bunch of Middleastern "refugees".

btw, the leaders and the majority of the citizens of the Scandinavian countries do not agree with the premise that they have socialist or "Democratic socialist" economies or societies (for those who are determined to rebrand socialism into something that sounds better). That is a gross mischaracterization that we Americans have wrongly labeled those countries with.

Those countries are free-market economies with broad reaching government-run social programs. And here's a hot tip.... that's no different from America. Do we mischaracterize our economy as socialist? No. Because it is not.

In fact, the US actually has more government run social programs than any of those countries. By FAR. Definitely by sheer volume because of our economy and population is larger, but we have more types of social programs than they do.

They pay a higher percentage of taxes because they have fewer people to fund their government run programs.

They pay taxes for secondary education, police, fire, water, utilities, and all of the usual public good types of services. Additionally, they also fund college and provide free healthcare services. Probably many other programs as well, but are smaller in scale compared to us.

The US has more expansive programs for the main public good types of services as mentioned above. Then we have our military, Social Security, welfare, food stamps, housing assistance, Medicare, Medicaid, various other low income related programs, a robust system for caring for those with special needs.... in most states. And ALL our states received funds from the federal government visa vie our taxes, btw.

The US government also provides funding and grants for arts, science, and many others. We don't do free healthcare or free college.... Maybe we could if we didn't have 10 million other programs being funded by our government. hmmm. No other country on Earth provides that level of government-run programs. I question the usefulness of some of them, but our politicians have to appease the people who are okay with failed programs, because otherwise they might not get re-elected. smh

What Chris Wallace is saying now...

    • “If I could say one thing to all of the people out there watching: Forget the politics. This is a public safety health issue," Wallace said. "The president of the United States is in the most secure bubble in the world in the sense that everybody who comes in contact with him has to take a test, and he still got it. Wear the damn mask and follow the science."

Of course, the nutters are working overtime.

“You’ve never seen him sick. You’ve never seen him without energy,” Brenden Dilley, a self-described “MAGA life coach,” told his viewers on his radio showFriday. “[He’s] not walking around with weak-ass, p---- f------ genetics. He ain’t got those liberal genes. These are, like, god-tier genetics; top 1-percentile genetics.”

Does anyone else find it odd that no prominent Democrats have had the virus but the list of Republicans goes on and on?” tweeted DeAnna Lorraine, a former congressional candidate who has backed baseless theories from the QAnon conspiracy movement, going on to blast masks as a Democrat-backed lie and questioning whether China had technically made an “assassination attempt” on the first family.

I’ve always listened. Right from the beginning. I believe in science. The title of the article if you looked at it was:

Chris Wallace to Fox News viewers: "Wear the damn mask"

You’re the one on a steady diet of FOX news. Are you listening?;)

Unfortunately, I *have* to listen whether Wallace pipes up or not :(.

Wait a minute, though. Fox is untrustworthy, right? So if they are saying to wear a mask, that means we should NOT wear one? o_O
