Boy, if you guys are gettin' all crazed about the behavior and appearance of Abe's team I can't wait to hear your vitriol when they introduce some of the more wild characters from the comic series. You might as well quit watching this show right now. Apparently this series needs to be all Team-Rick all the time without ever exploring other groups or depicting how they cope with survival. How dare AMC rip off the comics and bring a little levity to the show! Sounds like some of you'd prefer if this series was bogged down in wrist-slitting depression from beginning to end... That sounds awesome!! And OMG how dare a man in 2014 wear a mullet!! OH THE HUMANITY!!!!

 

I can honestly say that this is the first time I was ever disappointed with an episode and the first time I wasn't left with the anticipation to watch next week's and so on. I love the stories that are currently going on but the new characters that have been introduced were very hard to watch and there is a part of me that is worried that a main character might end up being killed to allow more screen time for the three bozos. If they are trying to do the comics to a tee without concern for how the characters translate to TV just to satisfy comic book fans I think AMC is going to end up alienating a huge portion of their TV viewers to the show.

 

I have a feeling you are right. So far I'm not thrilled with the new characters and previously that hasn't happened. Tyrese and Sasha weren't the most interesting new characters last season, but at least they came off like real people and not characters that walked straight out of a video game. Abraham has potential, but they need to tune down the video game Colonel Guile Street Fighter persona. Its like they're trying way too hard to make him cool and likeable as well. Rosita...where did they find this baby-version of Tomb Raider? Eugene is a mystery so I haven't really decided what to think of him. All I know is that he has terrible eye and hand coordination. Last but not least Tara is also someone I don't care about. She went from this cliched fist bumping, tomboy wanna cop that is all bark and no bite to killing Walkers like she's been doing it for years. Wasn't this the same chick that was locked up in an apartment for 2 years? Some also mentioned that she called Megan her nephew. I wonder did the writers even catch that. Not very good writing...

 

I agree with the above as well. There had been so much build up to the trio's arrival that I felt it was anticlimactic. Abraham's character was cartoonish, he didn't have the authority he was supposed to have because he was comical. Maybe if he had more of a physical presence he would appear more imposing? His line above saving the world was cheesy. I did like his seen were he killed the three zombies.

Rosita barely said anything but just stood and pouted (who pouts in the ZA?). I'm indifferent to her outfit, she can wear what she likes.

Eugene may hold promise as a more interesting character.

 

I don't want to read the comics as those on here that do seem to have a predispose vision of things. Like they all seem to love Ty because in the comics he must be a hell of a lot better than the Ty we see on screen. I got sick of reading cant wait for Ty to be badass and get his hammer, well he has it and he's still barely worth mentioning.

 

The casting of Rosita is plain awful. She may be true to the comic (I don't even know if she is?) but she needed to be way less girly (I'm pretty sure she couldn't throw something more than 5 feet) as she looked so awkward holding a gun and needed to have a more defined body.

She looked basically like when a model dresses up as a character, not someone believable as that person.

 

all the people complaining about new characters and how the show is staying true to the comic now and they dont like it, even though they never read the comics are not the kind of fans I want to watch with. Tell ya that right now.You (women mostly) probably didn't mind spending the whole season 2 looking for Sophia. You are all obsessed with Daryl (over-rated), and as far as bashing Abraham, he has had like half and episode to develop. Wait for his backstory, wait for his first chance to earn Rick's trust and respect. His character is premium, they only invented Daryl to fill time to get to Abraham. And saying that Ty is a bust character is not fair. IF ALL he ever does is get Judith away from the prison after the attack, he has served a noble purpose.Now all of you can go to study hall or whatever it is you do. Watch The Walking Dead on youtube and subscribe to thewalkingdead08. He has all issues posted up to 121. Read up and enlighten yourselves. Your opinions will mean more to us real fans.

 

The people bitchin' about Abe will quit watching when the show introduces Jesus and King Ezekiel. There will be a lot of screaming about how the show has jumped the shark over these two. Especially if the show includes King Ezekiel's pet.

I'm 46 years old and know half a dozen petite gals ranging from 16 to 50 years old who could damn near knock me down with a punch and know how to shoot handguns, rifles and shotguns. Ya ever see a pretty lady who's 5 foot nothing, weighs a buck five soaking wet, fire a double barrel shotgun in rapid succession? Mm mm mm!! I'm a little sad that you haven't had the luxury to meet such a woman. Just know, Barbies with boots and camo and guns... they're for real... just obviously a small percentage of the population my friend.

If I have any complaints about Rosita it's that her acting seems stale, but since she's said like three words of dialogue, I'll reserve judgement. Anyway, to each his own........

I agree with you. Ty is a much more fleshed out character in the comics and is basically Rick's right hand and plays more of a Daryl role but he's a pretty useless character on the show.

@Neuropyramidal I would have likes it better if Aberham and the other monkeys were believable. This fat sloppy goatee wearing chump does not look like former military anything. He looks like the leader of one of those survivalist collectives that show off their ar-15s once a month and believe its an expression of there freedom. . . That scientist only looks like hes been studying the dollar menu after leaving a fantastic sams' thats still using a floaby vacuum hair style. And the girl? Manicured and tanned, its the zombie apocalypse, and she looks like a liability if folks like the ones they met in season 2 show up.

No, i didn't read the comics, no, I don't intend to.

 

Ezekial and Jesus are awesome.... I like characters with "quirks" and things that make them stand out.... thats why these two you name are held in high regard in survivor communities... men of honor who take it upon themselves to serve the people that THEY CAN HELP.... thats why you remember names like theirs when people like Douglas Monroe or Spencer or Gregory get forgotten... and if you can't appreciate Ezekials pet when you talk about a ZOMBIE APOCOLYPSE survival horror franchise, just stop ... your suspension of disbelief is broken and all things walking dead are wasted on you.
