Is Daryl using his arrows to shot walkers dead and use it to kill snakes for food?

I assume he doesn't sterilize his arrows each time after use. So that means walker blood on the arrow will contaminate whatever animal he kills snakes, raccoons, rabbits etc...

He cooks them and eat them with no effect, so small amount of walker blood is OK to ingest? It will not get into his blood stream and infect him like how a bite from a walker would?

I'm gonna imagine/pretend that the heat of cooking the meat probably sterilizes any bad stuff that was on it.

The idea seems to be that as long as you cook it, its okay. Back in S5, they ate Bob's leg and did okay afterwards, even though Bob was infected.

In season 1, Daryl cleaned his arrows with the rag he carries in his back pocket.

Daryl doesn't use his crossbow to kill snakes. In season 4, he used a stick to pin a rattlesnake, and then he used his knife to cut the rattlesnake's head off.

Didn't he use his crossbow in this last episode to pin the snake to the tree? I might need to rewatch. As for Bob's leg, I don't think they lived long enough after eating it to become infected so we aren't really sure.

Perhaps the virus cannot survive outside the bloodstream? Like if the blood is exposed to air it dies?

Okay, Daryl used his crossbow to kill a snake in the last episode. Here are his two snake kills.

Maybe eating a little walker gunk everyday lets you build up a tolerance. Like snake handlers claiming to be immune to venom. If its the infection in walkers mouths that give you the fever, being able to fight that infection might give you a chance to take a minor bite and survive.

I have to admit, I kinda wondered about Daryl letting his dog Dog eat those hands.
    I'd be worried.
Didn't the zombie meat kill pigs in earlier seasons?

Not sure. The guy from the Kingdom were feeding zombie meat to the pigs that were then given to the Saviors. He wanted the Saviors to get sick. We never saw the saviors got sick so may be it's OK to eat zombie meat, or at least eat zombie meat fed pigs.

Or could be it's OK if you cook it thoroughly, or if you don't have any bleeding in your digestive tract. For example if you have a stomach ulcer or a mouth sore then the zombified virus can enter your bloodstream and you get infected.

Could be. I know a guy who is a plumber. He carries with him a pocket knife. He could be using that knife in the morning to score the 20 year old wax gunk from the bottom of the toilet during the job...and three hours later he would use the same knife to peel his apple during lunch...I couldn't believe it...but he said it's OK because he cleans it, with a rag in the back of his truck and the rag looks like he just pulled it out of a ditch...I don't know. I guess some people have good immunity to yuck.

But then again, I would imagine zombie meat is tasty and "falls off the bones" good. It is falling off the bone before you even started cooking LOL.;)

Ya Daryl eats with that knife he sticks in a walkers eye. Literally just wipes it on his pants and he’s good.
