I am trying to understand this scene. I do not see a weapon that would indicate suicide, Perhaps The mans knife slipped while field dressing the deer? What am I missing?

I'm stumped on that one too. Did he kill himself, was he killed for the deer...? There had to have been brain trauma of some kind or he'd be up and chasing people.

I was wondering the same thing, actually, but figured either I missed something or there was a simple explanation, like with the frogs in the dry creek bed. So I'll just wait for someone to explain it to us. :p

In the meantime, is anyone a Sex Pistols/Tenpole Tudor fan?

I thought this was weird too, so did Daryl apparently. But if someone killed him, wouldn't they have taken the deer? Why was he mostly intact? The walkers would have eaten him.

Don't know the timeline or distance involved but is there a link between dead girl in the car boot tied up, dead girl in the barn (with gun) and dead guy with half eaten deer?

Was i the only viewer that thought that Daryl was tempted to get himself a bit that deer for his tea but then stopped......

It was symbolic of Daryl and Beth.

The deer was the man's lover (Beth often looked light a deer in headlights with those large eyes and odd glare she pulls), and the deer died, so the dude killed himself.

At least that's my opinion and you can't tell me I'm wrong because opinions can never be wrong.

Should be the same actor who played Otis with a different name just add to the hilarity.
Then he gets Otis'ed again this time by Rick.

Maybe the guy trapped or killed the deer and was overtaken by walkers who partially ate them both? Long shot but something still lingers for me with that scene.

It appeared the man shot himself. There was a wound on the lower part of his face, and an exit wound on his head. But no gun in sight. There was what looked like a bottle in the leaves to his right. Maybe he was drinking to build up the courage to go through with it. Perhaps he was part of a group, and when the heard the shot, they came and took the gun with them. How he is connected to the deer, I'm not sure.

I just rewatched the scene. The guy's right leg is odd. For one thing, it looks shorter than it should be, which could just be that it is partially under the leaves, but you can also see the tread on the bottom of his shoe, and its in a position that it couldn't be unless the guy's ankle were badly broken.

Here's what happened. He was up in a tree hunting deer. He shot the deer, then attempted to climb down from the tree, fell quite a distance, badly broke his leg/ankle, realized that this was a death sentence, shot himself, his friends came and took the gun. BAM!!!!!! ;)
