They sure are cranking up the good old AMC marketing machine for this show. Which is good, as long as it's not another Low Winter Sun. Ep 5 felt like they were really starting to hit their stride.

I'm impressed with the original storytelling style so far. Eugene appearing as Preacher's imaginary friend was very cool, as was Donnie's plan to outwit Jesse.

I'm playing catch-up on this series so I won't be current for awhile. Have watched the first three episodes and I'm really enjoying it. It's the kind of show too that is a good fit for the summer.

 

It's a great romp, Stealth. There are slower paced episodes and faster paced ones, but to me, the characters are just so damn interesting. It pays off.

The characters are are great. I particularly like Jesse and Cassidy. And when you have people that are interesting like that it carries slower paced episodes too.

 

Yeah, I wish I had watched from the start so I could comment episode to episode, but too late now. I'll be fully onboard though for next season and any off season discussion.

 

Good to hear! I'd still say The Leftovers Season 2 takes top spot though, even though it was 2015.

Of the scenes they mentioned, my top three are:

Tulip fighting through the cornfield and then brushing it off and being all "I love kids" to those random kids while eliciting their help doing bad things.

Emily feeding the mayor to Cass. That was truly an :zombies_shocked: moment for me.

#1 is that crazy fight scene with the angels and archangel in the motel. CRAZY.


Unmentioned small favorite scenes:
Jesse sending Cass into the wall as they are testing his powers.....cracked me up.
Cass dragging the cow into his crater after falling from the plane.....at the time, WTF???
Eugene saying hell wasn't that far away.
