INTRODUCTION​

Are you interested in socializing with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 players your age but haven't been able to "weed out" all the adolescent gamers? Have you been unable to join traditional, time-consuming clans because, being responsible adult, you have had to juggle your free time with going to college, taking care of children, or being employed in a full time job? In short, are you interested in an online experience akin to "shooting the bull" with a group of drinking buddies? If so, then the Black Ops 2 Gunslingers is the right place for you!

We are fortunate to have over 6,500 adults registered on our homepage, and are eager to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
We have a large collection of parents. And we have the large collection of the working men and women members.

If you would like to join the club, you need only to fulfill two things:

We like to ascribe the Gunslinger experience akin to having drinks with some buds after work or partying with them on the weekends. Nothing stops the music faster than a few knuckleheads, so we do have a few guidelines we expect people to follow during their stay:

The Gunslingers Newsletter (Week of 7/22/13):

We have been hard at work getting some new features up for our Gunslinger members during this lull between past Fall releases and the upcoming season of new consoles and games. Like our members, it is important to us to promote activity and enhance the community experience around the in-game core element of our group. Here is what has been added to GS since our last post:

Bu-Bu-Bullet Holes! Yes, that was a quote for the Goonies. Chunk's quote has been evoked here because we have added an annual nod to Gunslinger members who keep coming back to the posse year after year. For each year a GSer is with us, a bullet hole is added to their profile, which is also placed under their avatar in every topic view. Come on. That is worth at least one Truffle Shuffle.

Status Messages - Gunslinger members can now add status messages, whether it be what they are currently doing or a clever quote, to their user profiles.

Birthday Cake for Active Members - As a way to give a little extra attention to the active Gunslinger members who post often in the clan's forum, a special icon shows up under hs/her avatar and name in all topics on the day of their birthday.

13 Days of Yeti - Yes, you read that right. We have recently reorganized our local arcade to include more graphics and genres of games. While I don't understand why, Yeti games often get their own section in online arcades. Why buck tradition? So, for each of the next thirteen days, a new Yeti game will be installed in the arcade. The first game added is "Icicle Climb." It involves a penguin, throwing icicles, and a Yeti. Yeah, I don't know...

Robot vs Zombies - In further GS Arcade news, a game called "Robot vs Zombies" has been added to Gunslinger Arcade. Please, don't get caught playing while the boss is looking.

King of Kong - Have you seen that documentary about Donkey Kong highscore competitions? Well, the Gunslingers are holding our own. No, I will not be wearing a umpire's outfit.

The Gunslingers is an oasis for parent and hard working adult gamers from around the world that was formed back in June, 2007. The underlining goal of our group is to create a gaming environment that is fun yet civil and friendly for mature, casual gamers. It is a goal far too uncommon in the gaming community, and is not often honestly sought. For anyone wishing to escape the lulls of silly clan probation periods, distinct divides in community ranks, unrealistic demands of attendance, and continual ugliness of clan wars, the Gunslingers is your haven. We have attracted thousands of like-minded adults, so you are not alone in your wants.

The fruit of the Gunslingers is being continuously surrounded by folks sharing your general gaming wants and perspectives. There is plenty of obligations and negativity wishing to take up your time in your career, in your personal life, and certainly during your online travels. It doesn't need to be that way. The Gunslingers clan, however existential as it may seem, seek to inject some positivity and even escapism in your daily obligations. Come. Kick your feet up. Decompress. Be merry! Everyone deserves that, and, regardless if you are new to online gaming or a veteran, you will be welcomed by the rest of us. Share in our cheer!

Current and Future Gunslingers!

I know it has been some time since this thread has gotten attention, but that is because I am in a middle of a big move. The good news is that the Gunslingers clan is just as active as ever. Why? Well, because our entire group is composed of folks who juggle real life with our love of gaming. It is amazing how well things work when everyone can relate!

Anyway, here are some recent, general updates taking place within the Gunslingers that you all may be interested in:

Member Spotlight - The GS clan is all about the members, which is why we periodically pick an active member at random to publish an interview in our blog. Official Gunslingers Twitch.tv Channel - We have been featuring the live streaming channels of GS members for some time. Now, we have created an official Gunslinger Gaming channel in which all interested members can broadcast from...creating a channel composed of gaming content from around the world!

Football Season Tribute - American pro and college level football has begun and, as a tribute, we have added a football highscore game to our custom and ever growing Gunslinger Arcade! It is a great way to kill some time (preferably while the boss isn't looking) when we can't be in-game!

Gunslinger Gaming Podcast - If you haven't had a chance to listen to Episode Six of our hilarious podcast, take a listen! It is like other gaming podcasts...but with beer.

New Memberships Keep Coming! - Normally, the gaming community doesn't go into overdrive until the Fall and Winter times of the year. That may be true, but people keep signing up with the Gunslingers in the meantime! We are proud to provide an oasis for 129 new members during the month of August! Welcome aboard and thank you all for joining!

There has a been a tradition at the Gunslingers that have been visited for some time. I mean, of course, of New Member Shout-Outs. Call of Duty: Ghosts Gunslingers!

The online and campaign trailers is making it hard to wait for Call of Duty: Ghosts! There is just so much carnage and mayhem to do together on the upcoming battlefields! Hit the ground running (perhaps literally) during the launch day of Call of Duty: Ghosts by joining up and swapping in-game contacts exclusively with fellow older, casual gamers! The Gunslingers group has had MANY adults just like you add themselves to our Master Lists, so the COD:Ghosts online party will be going around the clock for us!

Get registered. Add yourself to our Call of Duty roster. Swap contacts. It's that simple!

I also have a few more general Gunslingers updates to share with the rest of you, so here they are:

Advanced Twitch.tv Support - All Gunslinger members can now, through a simple tag, add a Twitch.tv status bar to any of their posts or signatures on the Gunslinger Gaming forums! It is a fantastic and quick way to let all fellow members know when you are broadcasting live. This new feature is in addition to the ability to embed your live broadcasts into any posts you make within the GS Forums. You even have the choice of sharing your own Twitch.tv account or, to get more views, stream directly to the official Gunslingers Twitch Channel!

Halloween Arcade Month - A new Halloween themed game will be installed into the custom and ever growing Gunslingers Arcade throughout the entire month of October! We are even offering a bit of a preview of the Halloween celebration at GS via the game "Endless Zombie Attack!" Aim for the head. Aim for the highscore.

Frosty Pints

We welcome you to join in on the premiere event here at Gunslingers entitled Frosty Pints!

Crack open your favorite brew, stop by the GS Chats and connect with fellow members for some drunken gaming fun. Going strong since 2008, Frosty Pints is a particularly great time for new members to meet other Gunslingers and to swap game contacts.

Frosty Pints takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings, which actually means all day Friday and Saturday due to having members from time zones across the globe. (Quite the bender, huh!?) The busiest times tend to be from 3:00pm PST and on.

Some incredible milestones occurred lately, Gunslingers, and we all should be proud of them!

First, the overall Gunslingers clan is officially over 7,000 registered members strong! The days of believing that gaming is just for kids and the overtly competitive are long, long gone.

Second, we gained 134 new members in just the first seven days of October! That is a new record! To everyone who can count themselves among that extraordinary number, welcome aboard and thank you for joining! To every single other member, thank you for making the Gunslingers a place so inviting and helpful that our group attracts so many fellow mature, casual gamers!

Third, one of the said new members is a professional musician. GS*Brewski has been kind enough to add six of his songs to the Gunslinger Gaming Jukebox! I have some exciting Gunslingers updates to share with the rest of you! Yes, that does mean there will be a little rambling involved, but, hey, you are reading messages by a group for older gamers. We like to ramble and tell tales of blowing on cartridges that you have already heard a thousand times before.

The Amazing Influx of Members Continues! - The second week of October (8th to the 14th) brought one hundred and ten new members in the Gunslingers! Incredible! Thank you all for joining the Gunslingers and welcome aboard!

New Games in the Gunslinger Gaming Arcade! - Two Chess games have been installed in our arcade, and, to keep with our full month celebration of Halloween, "Castlevania - The Blood Way" has also been added. When the boss isn't working or you are waiting for your system to update, take a shot at the high scores!

October is Halloween Month! - Halloween has always been a favorite time of the year for the Gunslingers, and we are getting in the macabre spirit in the following ways:

There are some you reading our recruiting thread for the first time and wonder, "'Clan for Adults?' What does that mean? Will their members be around my own age?"

Those are good questions. There are certainly different ways to view a claim that a gaming group is mature or for older gamers. So, let's take a snapshot of the Gunslingers community. Today, October 25th, the following members are celebrating birthdays. Their ages are listed next to their GS* username:

First of all, happy birthday, guys! Their average age is 37.6. When you are in a gaming group that promotes weekend get-togethers called Frosty Pints, that is the sort of demographic one can expect. We proudly keep the Gunslinger experience exclusively for older gamers, and you are invited to join the party!

Tonight is the night, Gunslingers! The PS4 will be launched, and we are as excited as Garfield on Halloween ("Candy, candy, candy!")! That is why the following Master Lists have been unlocked and ready for people to start adding themselves:

Please, be sure to add yourself to the above Master Lists that apply to you once you get the game. Also, this is a moment very unique: old and new members alike will be amassing their friend roster at the same time, and with a much higher friend count limit. Be sure to keep checking back to these Master Lists to send out invites as more people get added daily. One the flip end, don't wait until everyone else sends you an invite. Go down the list and send out invites as you add yourself to the Master List as well.

The above advice is critical in making this PS4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts launch even more exciting, social, and a perfect foundation for you to have many gaming experiences right out of the gate!

Hello, current and potential Gunslingers!

I have some exciting news to share on our front. It is apparent that players can stream live footage of themselves gaming, and so we have created a new feature on the Gunslinger Gaming site to accommodate that need!

Gunslinger Gaming now has a Live Feed site page!



Now, on the top navigational bar of all GS site pages (including the forum), you will see a link called "Live Feed." That will bring you to our new page! If you wish to try out what I am talking about directly from this post, here is the link in question: GS Twitch

You can even scroll through icons of all the participating members to see who is or is not currently broadcasting before selecting anyone from the drop-down menu. You can refresh the icons to see if anyone has just logged in without disrupting the current stream you are watching or the chat window!

If you are interested in streaming live gameplay, please share your Twitch account in THIS TOPIC. Any replies to that topic will be added to the Live Feed webpage.

In my last update-orientated post, I announced the Gunslingers new feature that helps members of our group to gather more hits to their live gameplay broadcasts and to help everyone easily reference who is currently streaming live.

The GS Twitch Page has been enhanced even further since that initial announcement in two ways:
1.) Users can now refresh the list of status icons without needing to refresh the entire page so not to disrupt whatever feed you are currently watching or closing the chat window.

2.) In addition to being able to chat in the Gunslingers text chat while watching your favorite feeds, you can also send live messages to the broadcaster while he/she is streaming.

In another update, we have installed a new trivia game, "Trivia Blitz," into our custom and ever expanding Gunslingers Arcade. See how much you know while hitting that highscore list. We know that we can't always be in-game with each other, so the Gunslingers clan makes sure that there are plenty of ways to keep busy within the GS clan regardless of platform access.

The above features are mere examples of the sort of activity going on within the Gunslingers. We strive to make the gaming experience for fellow mature, casual gamers fulfilling and a true oasis from the typical negativity found throughout the larger gaming community. If you share the same wants, you are invited to join us!

I am sure that, as you scan for the taglines "mature," "parent", and "adult" you see several clans pop up. All of us claiming to be an excellent home for you, a person who wants to game exclusively with an older crowd. But, what does that mean? I am sure a few of you reading this have checked out a mature proclaiming group and found it, instead, plagued with an adolescent approach to structure, a pension for drama, and a proportion of under age members.

The Gunslingers clan is different.

When we say we are a group for the mature, casual gamer, we mean it. All you need to do is to take any given snapshot of our community. Take today, for example. Our group is celebrating ten member birthdays on December 6th, 2013. Do you know what is the average age of those members? It isn't 18, that is for sure. Rather, the average age of the Gunslinger members celebrating birthdays today is 37.
