How did Lilly, Megan, Grandpa and Tara survive?

    How did this family survive for so long? They didn't know how to kill Walkers. The Governor taught them how to kill Walkers and not to mess around with dead folks. It doesn't seem possible that they survived for so long without knowing how to protect themselves. They had to go hunt for food and water. It's very unlikely that they never encountered trouble. Grandpa said that one of the girls was always shooting Walkers, but they would always "comeback".

    They talked about stockpiling. They probably stayed up in the apartment and had enough to live.

    That doesn't explain their ignorance on killing Walkers.

    If they never had to really leave their apartment then they probably never had to deal with any serious zombie threats. They had it easier than anyone we've seen yet.

    Sure it could. If they never left the building. They said that the had all the food from their dad's truck with them.

    I don't think it mentioned them going out hunting. They had the food from the truck and stayed indoors. It is possible to stay indoors that long if food is available.

    They had enough spaghettios and slim jim's to last several lifetimes.

    I mean I don't think they could have moved much in general with the father sick and all. They probably were there for a long time, if not the whole time.

    That's so unlikely. There were Walkers in that town and building. Plus Walkers can walk from miles away and run across you.

    Maybe. But not necessarily. They could have captured rain water. And maybe they had a huge supply, as well.

    You must go outside to capture a large supply of rain water. It takes time to collect such a large about of rain water. Rain doesn't come everyday, week, or even month. They had to leave to get water from another source.

    Of course its unlikely, but that's precisely why they are still alive. Its pure statistics. When 4999 out of 5000 people are dead, many of the 1 out of 5000 are still alive because they have beaten the odds: They have run across unlikely things, by definition.

    Grandpa said that there are Walkers on the roof and in the building. He told The Governor to listen to the footsteps above them.

    Well, the footsteps above them were in the apartments above them. Did he talk about the roof? I don't remember that, I'll have to watch again.
