He could have at least tried to bite him? Actually, do we know whether according to TWD mythology you can infect someone with the virus by biting them whilst you're still alive but already infected yourself?

 

Good question....I do not remember this issue being discussed before.
My bet is 'yes' as the virus is already in your system. Perhaps not right after you are bitten as your immune system might be temporarily fighting off the virus. But, Rufus has already developed symptoms like coughing and sweating etc, I bet his bite and saliva still can infect.

 

It would have been interesting to see it tested!

 

I`m not sure about the infecting part then but I'm fairly sure the 'want to bite' part isn't there yet. lol
