This episode was fascinating to me. Yes it was a slower pace, but was filled with highly interesting moments with The Governor all the way through. Really did a great job developing and showing us a different side of him. I've always liked the character, and now he's getting even more layers. Lots to think about after this one.

 

The episode was good in its own way but the best thing about the episode was David Morrisey's acting. He is doing his job really well.

 

Like all of the more recent episodes this one needed more TDog

I started to wonder that also. I am thinking he is at the prison going to warn them about Martinez evil group about to attack. If they don't go that rout they have to remotivate gov to get him interested in attacking prison. Right now he has a surrogate daughter and a new lover so he really doesnt have enough reason to launch assault on prison. Perhaps one or both are killed reintensifying his dark side.

 

By the end of the episode I found myself genuinely liking him.

"Oh wow, that was cool, he saved that little girl! OH NO WAIT HE'S THE BAD GUY THOUGH."

I agree with the OP. It really makes me sad that season 3 couldn't have been more like season 4 has turned out to be. This was a slow episode that was entertaining to watch and provided us with more insight into the story.
