I finished it the other day. I must say that I have the same takeaway as you do. It was rushed, but it still held my interest. The ending wasn't grade A material like Breaking Bad, but it wasn't a complete disaster like the GoT ending. I'd give it a B-.

I didn't really get the last scene at all. None of that made any sense to me. All in all, the series as a whole was still great.

I didn't like the last scene either! It leaves it open to the viewers interpretation, and myself I don't like that for a series finale. Not proper closure!! That aside I still enjoyed the series very much and would recommend it to others.

The only thing I wish they had done was

brought Joe Blake back one more time! I'd still like to know what the "trust me Juliana" when he shot her was about!

When all of the people came through the portal from the other worlds, all I could think was "Do they even know what they are getting themselves into?!?!?" These people are coming from alternate Earth's where they had freedom, to an Earth ruled by two evil empires; one who views non-Japanese people as sub-human and almost as slaves. And another that wants to wipe out everyone who's not "pure" in their eyes.
