My internet crapped out for a few moments during Talking Dead. Did anyone catch the date for the mid season premier?

Also, when can we start talking about the previews for the mid season premier?

That trailer after the episode was full of goodness

And then Negan with the shovel in the sneak peek from Talking Dead - WTF dude????

 

Season 1 was only six episodes so they were shown consecutively

Every season since thereafter has aired with a break between November and February. I would assume they do this because of (1) the holidays (2) all the damn holiday movies & specials, super bowl. People are busy with travelling and other events that disrupt their normal viewing habits. While annoying I can see the reasoning.

 

So much was packed into that preview.....

In this screen shot of the trailer we see that yes in fact Dog survived.

We also see that they have brought back with them a prisoner


Then I assume that the girl in the below gif is said prisoner. It appears she is talking to Daryl BUT is this one of their misdirects and she is actually talking to Henry? I mean he is in the clinker for two days following his puking on the pig mishap

Whoever she is speaking to she tells them "You don't belong with these people"

 

This one hurts.....the funeral for Jesus. No where do I see Michonne in this shot. I could be overlooking her but if not was she asked to not attend the funeral or is it that she chose to go back to ASZ prior to the funeral?

 

And this person (exciting) is clearly making her way to the front of the whisperers in this gif....

I assume that this is Daryl approaching her at the outer gates of Hilltop.....

 

Magna, Yumiko and Kelly are marching alongside Tara in what appears to be fight mode. Seems they are "earning their keep"

And ummm, is that Jesus' leather trench Magna is wearing? I know that waste is offensive in this world so if someone was going to get his coat then at least it is someone like Magna and not one of those snot nosed teen types

 

and here he is creepy whisperer himself. Manhandling Daryl like a freakin' rag doll


again, is this the same person (I tend to think so) or a misdirect?

but it is AWESOME.....right? I swear I was not looking forward to this arc. But with Angela at the helm and Samantha Morton as Alpha I am pumped for this
