Actually, I was thinking of Maggie offering them tomatoes before he had a chance to take one. The cost of coming towards a truce, a dozen tomatoes. But that would remove the drama TWD thrives on....

 

Well, Jed didn't give the opportunity to do that. He came off as aggressive and cocky right off the bat, so it wasn't really a dialogue that naturally led to Maggie immediately going "hey, want some tomatoes?", lol. And if Maggie thought that a few tomatoes would be a 'truce' for saviors worried about their missing friend, and wondering if Maggie had something to do with it, she'd be quite naive.

 

I couldn't help thinking Maggie flashed back in her head to the night Simon stopped them and killed Karl, the situations were eerily similar.

In her current state of mind, he's lucky she didn't drop him right there.

 

That's exactly what I was thinking about in that scene.
