    They did dub the guy an ankle biter on the Talking Dead when they were recapping the walkers we lost this episode. It has a nice ring to it.

    I'm pretty sure they didn't pass by the walker. Even still there is such a thing in Walking dead lore as a lurker which stay put and attack when a meal is close.

    Yep. I'm pretty sure it was sitting a hall they hadn't yet gone down. And Herschel was preoccupied with finding Maggie, hence why he didn't pause to poke the walker. Still, I would assume after dealing with walkers for so long, you give them a wide berth, even the ones not moving. Obviously they were taking time, but notice how Rick poked the dead guard? Made sure it wasn't just sitting there, waiting.

    What I want to know is why Old Man Hershel was part of the main "raiding party" in the first place. He's old, not as agile or physically able as the others, and besides, he the closest thing they have to a medic. You never want to put your medic on the front lines.

    Hershel may have been included in clearing out the cell block simply out of neccessity; Rick needed everyone from the group who could go hand-to-hand against the walkers.

    I have said time and time again that Hershel is probably their most valuable asset. Why he went with them also bothers me from that stand point. Anyway, I'm pretty sure he will sport a peg leg and be around for sometime yet.

    Someone's gotta know how to stop it. I mean Herschel may be the only one with loads of medical experience, but his daughter's might have picked up a thing or two.
