I might be wrong but what I started reading sounded awfully like I was fixing to venture into Can't Go Back land. So I quit reading.

I have a feeling they tried it with Nick in Fear and tested the shock impact on the show's ratings and decided to try something else with Rick and spoiled it voluntarily in order to use it as a marketing ploy.

 

I’ve only heard rumors. Every one of them different so they didn’t find their way in the spoilers.

I was surprised at how poor the marketing campaign was for Rick's final episodes. It didn't feel like the Walking Dead. I was about ready for the theme song from "Friends" to break out. They should have done some flashes of past scenes of Rick to get people nostalgic, and then end with a present day one with him and Michonne. Or you just do a really quick spot that creates some mystery, provide a sort of hook.

 

I have to admit last nights episode was better than the first, but still not great.
1) Rick narrating over a character montage, pretty lazy
2) three guys trying to lift what had to be 600 lb log when they have two donkeys, cmon
3) Shooting the rope, is Rick a sharpshooter now? HOw about using that hatchet?
4) I think these saviors disappearing will lead to something cool
5) Why get rid of Rick? Just get rid of Andy Lincoln! Viggo Mortensen is a dead ringer for Andy Lincoln and a damn fine actor. Sorry about pic right click image at top of post
