I don't think Rick's leaving will happen this way but if i was writing it...

Daryl and Maggie have a big confrontation with Rick. Everyone seems to be on the side of killing Negan. Against Rick's wishes, Negan is executed. Rick, not wanting to live and raise his daughter in such a community, and seeing how everyone is aligned against him, packs up his family and leaves.

It would be sad to see Michonne go but it think it would wrap everything up nicely, get rid of the Negan loose end, and move the show forward.

 

However they've written Rick's exit, one thing, in my opinion, is more important than anything else.

A lot (and I mean A LOT) of people will be tuning in for this event, more than a few saying they're leaving the show with Rick, so i'd like to see this episode end with such a punch that those folks say OMG, I have to watch it next week!

 

That is the hope.

They have definately had three great episodes that sadly many have missed out on. Hopefully some of those fans will find their way back.

 

From your lips, as they say.

 

Let's assume for the moment that Rick will die in his exit episode (instead of packing his bags like Morgan), how would you like to see him die?

Head bashed in by a baseball bat?
A walker bite?
An oceanside spear?
A crossbow arrow?
A knife stab (like Shane)?
A gunshot?
or a cliffhanger semi-death like the dumpster scene with no future reveal?

 

If it would save Rick's life, I'd strap a dumpster on my back and walk it to the set so he could crawl under it.

However this plays out, I think we're going to see a master class of acting from Danai Gurira. Price of admission, right there.
