    New intel all but confirms that we’ll be getting to the Whisperers sooner than later. Season 9 casting is underway for girlfriends Yumiko and Magna, future Alexandrians who are not only prominent protagonists in Robert Kirkman’s comic-book series but in the war with the Saviors’ Big Bad successors, the Whisperers. However, still not so much as a peep about a search for the villains’ leader Alpha…

    Anything new on Walking Dead Season 9? —Nick
    You betcha. Besides Yumiko and Magna, the future Alexandrians TVLine previously told you were being cast, the show is adding to the mix another character that, from what I’ve gleaned, doesn’t sound like anyone from the comics. For one thing, he or she is hearing-impaired. For another, he or she… can be either a he or a she — the show is open to hiring someone of either gender for the role.

    I like how they make Magna and Yumiko sound way more important than they are.

    Hopefully that means the show will rectify Kirkman's wrong of making them background characters. Magna, at least.

    Did Henry [Macsen Lintz] grow up to be his older brother? To me it doesn't make much sense, if the time jump is only 1 to 1.5 years....but we shall see.....

    Lauren Ridloff, who is deaf and was nominated for a 2018 Tony in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play category for her role in Children of a Lesser God, will be joining the show for a multi-episode arc as Connie.

    Connie has been described as “a seasoned survivor deft at using her senses to read people, situations, and trouble. Her character is deaf and uses American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate.”

    I came here to post a similar article. It looks like Angel Theory isn't playing Connie after all. I like this remix of Connie, and it will be interesting to see a deaf character.

    There is also some speculation that this actor, Eleanor Matsuuro, might be playing Yumiko. She recently followed a bunch of TWD cast members and Lauren Ridloff and her followed each other.
