Hopefully, it's not a murder case. Sometimes with these older couples someone dies on a road trip and their spouse just drives them home. It seems weird to me, but their reasoning seems to be along the lines that they'd rather have their hometown people take care of them, not have to pay transport costs of the body, etc.

 

A female cop in NY is arrested for hiring a hitman to kill her ex-husband. Meh, that might be understandable, BUT she got caught when she wanted to add her new boyfriend's daughter on to the hit list as well, and the boyfriend tipped off the police. A word of caution to all you angry psychos out there, most fathers love their daughters and don't want them to be killed off just because you're in the picture no matter how wonderful you are.

Also, the clear implication is that the boyfriend knew about the plot to kill just the husband and did NOT tip off the cops about it, so... be careful out there?

At first I was saying, "good job, Dad", but with the last bit where the neighbor saw the suspect "stab himself with a kitchen knife"... you have to wonder what really happened. If the guy turns out to have been crazy - o.k., but it's hard to believe that someone who's been shot multiple times will go down to the kitchen, grab a knife and stab themselves for good measure.

A Texas father wrested a gun from an intruder outside his 13-year-old daughter’s bedroom early Sunday and shot him multiple times, police said.

The suspect, who police said was in his early 30s, broke into the family’s Houston home through the ground floor window sometime after midnight, The Houston Chronicle reported.

The suspect was taken to Southwest Memorial hospital where he was declared dead. It wasn’t immediately clear what connection -- if any -- the suspect had to the family of the home. Police said the incident is still under investigation."

This black man was apparently seeking vengeance for Dylan Roof killing 9 black churchgoers and went in to a church and attempted to kill 10 white churchgoers. Parity, or something.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The black man suspected of killing a woman at a Tennessee church went there "with the intent to murder a minimum of 10 white churchgoers," a prosecutor said Monday.

During opening statements in the trial against Emanuel K. Samson, Deputy District Attorney Amy Hunter said Samson left a note on the dashboard of his vehicle explaining his plans to retaliate for a 2015 church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, when white supremacist Dylann Roof killed nine black worshipers.

The note said "Dylann Roof is less than nothing," and referenced "the blood that 10 of your kind will shed ... in terms of vengeance," according to portions Hunter read out loud in court."

Washington State just passed a law making it legal to compost human bodies. "Uncle Joe just died, throw him on the compost heap" seems to be coming soon. I wonder if we'll see a rise in prion-based diseases from this in people who use their relative's remains to plant their gardens? Time will tell.
