The Gov's beard was a left over prop from Forrest Gump... AMC got a deal too good to pass up.. Anything to save a buck at AMC.

But when he got on set he had to shave it off, because he was filming the scene from "Internement", so they made a prop beard in london, that was given to production.

 

I heard that too on TTD. I did find it a bit odd that they had to fly in a fake beard all the way from the UK?? It's a freakin fake beard...........Someone at AMC is in big trouble for that over expenditure.

 

Rick has the best beard on the show, I mean damn that is a beard to be proud of.
