Guilty as charged. It's why I hate architects. When a building is constructed and it's all pretty like, the architect gets the credit. But when it falls down and kill people, they blame the structural engineer.

 

Someone once gave me an analogy about engineering relating it to ducks. When you see a duck swimming in a pond, all you see is the duck gliding gracefully along the water. However, if you look under the water, you'll see the ducks legs frantically paddling and pushing hard against the water. The engineers are the duck legs - the ones working furiously to make everything appear smooth and graceful.

Because that isn't what the group does. They just don't kill people.

they do kill people who threaten them the first plan was to just kill all the guards there

 

Maybe years down the road if they start rebuilding society and develop trade routes

 

That shootout would have killed more than just the guards. At least half of Rick's crew would have been killed as well. This group is not like the Governor or Termite groups. They have no reason to go after Rick's crew so there is no need to kill them.

 

I'm glad a shootout didn't happen. There was nothing either side would have gained from it. Having a shootout there would have just been bloodthirsty murder for Rick's group, shooting people who had nothing to do with Beth's death. If a shootout occurs, Rick and Daryl are right in front and are the first to get shot by the cops.

I hope they leave the hospital alone for the rest of the series. They don't need to have a conclusion for every single group they cross paths with. It would be completely unrealistic if they just added a conclusion to every single group they come to cross paths with. Just leave the hospital people as a loose end like that. Same with Morales' family.

 

Even if Rick and Daryl dodge the shots there was no way they would have gotten Carol out of the hospital under gunfire.

 

your right it wouldve been a bloodbath and ricks group would be shot at and some would be killed but they wouldve killed the hospital group with some losses the hospital group were holding pistols ricks group were armed with assault rifles

 

Losing a few people is a big deal. And for what? The hospital people said they weren't going to come after them and they have no reason to so what would be the point?

 

Exactly. We lose Rick/Daryl/Carol just so they can kill a few redshirt cops who did nothing wrong? If people had a hard time accepting Beth taking such a bad death, just think what happens if we lose one of our bigger characters for absolutely nothing. Rick and Daryl were armed with pistols, and Tyreese is a bad shot. Carol isn't armed at all. Sasha is behind everyone. We either get a completely unrealistic gunfight where no characters die somehow and we are left with a group which murdered another for no reason, or we lose characters.

Exactly. The hospital group declined Rick's invite to tag along. And why would they have wanted to? The hospital looked fairly secure. They had what they needed. They'll be fine. We can only hope tangling with Rick's group may have made them think twice about kidnapping people.

Same with the people at the old folks home. Those guys were good with a gun, and they looked like they had a system that worked for them. Maybe they'll eventually meet up with the hospital group since they're both in Atlanta. Either way, whatever their fate, it's immaterial to our group at this point.
