Big news on the peace front with a deal signed between the UAE and Israel. The huge thing is that Israel agreed to stop annexing territory. I hope it lasts. LOL, I'm not surprised Israel wants to get something done under Republican leadership, though. If Biden wins our .gov will probably shift back to being pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel.

    "
President Trump on Thursday announced what he called a “Historic Peace Agreement” between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, saying they agreed to “full normalization of relations.”

“HUGE breakthrough today! Historic Peace Agreement between our two GREAT friends, Israel and the United Arab Emirates!” Trump tweeted Thursday morning.

The president, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed released a joint statement Thursday, after the three spoke “and agreed to the full normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.” The statement said that the “diplomatic breakthrough” was at “the request of President Trump,” and that Israel will “suspend declaring sovereignty over areas outlined in the President’s Vision for Peace and focus its efforts now on expanding ties with other countries in the Arab and Muslim world.”

Israel and the UAE also said they will continue their efforts to “achieve a just, comprehensive and enduring resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”

Oh well. The USPS is virtually irrelevant now anyway. Name one thing that anyone actually NEEDS the postal service for? Better yet, name one thing that the postal service does that cannot be modified, retooled, or redone by a private company at a lower rate?

It's never been run well. Always in debt, always over budget. No one would lose much sleep if it were dissolved. The employees could find jobs at UPS, FedEx, Amazon or work for other couriers and logistic operations for similar pay.

This might be the least controversial thing Trump has ever spouted off about.

The man comes right out and admits his attempt at voter suppression and no out cry from the right? Well, I suppose when you can’t win fair and square you’ll attempt anything.

    Let’s fact check his claims:

    https://www.factcheck.org/2020/06/trumps-absentee-vs-mail-in-ballot-spin/

And his hypocrisy since he and others in the GOP have voted by mail:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/06/22/trump-officials-vote-by-mail/

And no response would be complete without a late night closer look, lol

I'd like to agree with you, but it just seems wrong somehow...

Say what you want about Trump, he's actually tried to *do* something in the Middle East.

    "
Iran and Turkey harshly criticized the United Arab Emirates for its deal this week with Israel, framing it as an act of betrayal against Palestinians and Muslims.

The historic UAE-Israel, brokered by the U.S. and considered a major foreign policy triumph for President Trump, would make the UAE the third Arab country, behind Egypt and Jordan, to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel."

Florida is very strict about their property taxes.
Mar a Lago is either Trumps residence. Or it is his business. It can’t be both here because of the tax laws.
So Trump is either committing voter fraud or tax fraud.
I suppose his followers won’t care though. Until they try to do the same, and find themselves before a judge.

Democrats have been prepared for the fascists attempting to stop people from voting though. Jim Clyburn said this week that they're making October "election month" in honor of John Lewis. There's going to be a push for people to vote early, or drop off their mail-in ballots.

That doesn't cover everything though and people have to make their choices based on the states they're in, and what the current setup is. A place like Florida with DeSantis in office, will go to whatever means they can muster to supress the vote, so more effort needs to be put in place there to assist people

Naturally the attack on the USPS will hurt lower income Americans the most, and it's particularly egregious during a pandemic when people are counting on deliveries, but this is to be expected from people who just shrug off the rising death toll.

We just have to get through a few more months of this insanity. It's going to feel like forever though.

Some much needed levity in all the madness. Guy wakes up from a coma after 3 1/2 years. My favorite part begins when he says, "What're you all wearing masks for, have you become doctors?" The pandemic part is the best.

My concerns about the post office is that a lot of people will not get their needed medications.
My daughters insurance does their prescription by mail. Her inhaler, contacts, and birth control, all come through the mail.
Thankfully, her OBGYN saw what is happening, and sent her a 6 month supply. She can get her inhaler directly from the doctor, but then she will have to miss a days work because of that.
If the dismantling continues, then some insurance companies will have to redo their policies. That’s not good news for those who can’t get out to pick up their medication.

In Florida you can't have a business in your house, like the people who work out of their garage, small time contractors, etc.?

Nope! But that doesn’t stop some people. (The yard nazi who likes to call code enforcement on our neighborhood, but sells refurbished lawnmowers from his driveway).

It has to do with taxes. Most homes file for a homestead tax, which is a discount. Business taxes are higher, but get tax breaks for providing jobs, etc...
And since Florida does not collect state tax from residents at tax time, they are very firm on property tax, marriage licenses, permits, fishing and hunting. This is where they collect their money.

Don’t fret. I’m sure Donald will be allowed to do both, as some republicans tend to look the other way, when it comes to his crimes.

Wow, that's wild. The State does need tax revenues to provide essential services though, and if Trump's saying he lives there he needs to comply with the law like anyone else. LOL, you know though, I'll bet after they finally make him pay, add on penalties and fees, etc., he'll STILL end up paying less than he would have in NY!

If he has MaL as a residence, then he can not charge people to stay there. And, anyone staying there can only do so for a few days.
Where his property is, is very strict, as most residents are extremely rich.
They won’t put up with both.
Trump is still fighting to get a pier put in, and has lost every time.

This will make for some interesting news the next few days here.

The thing about Trump is he seems like he actually *enjoys* going to court and fighting all the time. It wouldn't surprise me if he figures he can just keep tying up the courts with this until he dies, and would be just fine with that result.

Very true. But while clogging the courts with all the lawsuits, he’s losing money. Doesn’t it cost to file civil suits?

That does not make a good business man, if he keeps losing money.

Trump is a business crook. He somehow became a billionaire by successive use of filing for bankruptcyo_O? I don't understand the way people swim in the financial seas, but then that's why he's a billionaire and I'm not.
