Yeah, there's a reason I don't have kids and it's not just b/c I practice the world's safest birth control! (I've had a few surgeries for sports-related injuries, and each time I have to take a pregnancy test. So. Very. Surreal.)

 

lol, you're not alone, the only time I haven't been asked for a pregnancy test is when you are already pregnant, or you are going back for the follow up after giving birth. They must make a mint on those things.

Truth. I had tuberculosis (contracted from traveling through third world countries) and I had to constantly take tests to ensure the meds I was on was not going to kill some fetus I was carrying. Docs tend to treat women as if we are always pre Maternal. They want to cover themselves. Luckily I was in a country where the health of the mother would have trumped.

 

Oh, yeah--I absolutely understand it. If I could conceivably get pregnant (see what I did there?), they have to do it. The last time it happened was for heel surgery a week before Christmas. Throw in the fact that my name is Mary, and we all had a good laugh.
