Not everyone will know, just like the Red Wedding in Game of Thrones was already known by many, but that fact didn't hurt the show. And just because Rick dies in the show, it doesn't mean he needs to die in the comics. I feel like the comics may outlast the run of the show anyway.

 

Exactly. No way the show will last that long, and it's entirely possible that the show won't even reach the point corresponding with Rick's death in the comics. And if they did, they don't necessarily need to kill him anyway.
