why not just kill Father Gabriel?

    Rick was covered in walker guts and therefore could've easily taken out Father G without anyone noticing. So why didn't he? Talk about bad writing.

    He's like the male version of Morgotha, but even worse (if that was somehow possible...I think he might have achieved the impossible actually).

    I'm actually pretty curious as to why the writers put him in this scene. He didn't do anything really in last night's episode so I can't help but wonder what's going to happen with him in 609.

    I think, Sam's panic is going to get Jessie+Ron+himself killed. And with Rick and Michonne fending off walkers, Gabe will become useful to do an important task.

    Why the hell would Rick kill Gabriel? Especially in front of Jesse and Carl. SOMBODY would have definitely noticed he was dead. Because how would they not realize that Gabriel was missing? Rick is somewhat cold-blooded, but he never just kills people who haven't directly harmed him yet, regardless of whether he dislikes them or not. This is why he didn't kill Tomas UNTIL he attempted to kill him. He always has a justified reason for ending someone's life. He's not The Governor or Neagan. That's not bad writing at all, it's pretty much within his character. Having Rick kill Gabriel would be TERRIBLE writing.

    I hate Gabriel, but to be honest he had an important role this episode. While they ran to the houses he even killed a couple of Walkers. And he helped Rick securing the door and staircase.

    I think Rick's perspective on Father Gabriel is similar to his perspective on Carter: "Someone like that, they're gonna die no matter what"

    No need to force the issue. He won't be a concern for much longer.
