Ubisioft Presents The Division: The Short Movie
It can be tough to get people interested in a AAA game that happens to be a brand-new, never-before-tested IP, like Ubisoft’s The Division (though it has “Tom Clancy’s” emblazoned on it). To that end, Ubisoft has financed a 30-minute short live-action film, Agent Origins, that serves as a prequel to the game’s world. Said world is a fallen metropolis, driven into chaos after a pandemic caused civil unrest and criminal syndicates took it from there.
Cue the macho Freedom Fighters with guns. ‘Murica!
The plan is to send out the entire thing for free in four parts. Right now the only place the short can be seen in its entirety is Amazon Prime Video (which means you’ve gotta be a Prime member to watch). For the rest of us peasants, Ubisoft gave us this trailer to chew on:
What will sell The Division better than any film is good buzz on the gameplay. We’ll be hearing what the state of the game is soon….beta testing begins later this month. The Division itself hits stores March 8 for Playstation 4, XBox One and PC.
