Sledgehammer Says Xbox One Advanced Warfare May Run at a Higher Resolution Than Ghosts
Sledgehammer Games is not committing to getting its futuristic Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare running at a futuristic 1080p resolution on the Xbox One, but it does seem to be saying it will be higher resolution than the disappointing upscaled 720p Call of Duty: Ghosts ran at.
Sledgehammer is aware that may fans consider a higher resolution important.
“Yeah, we talked about that around the studio a lot,” Sledgehammer Games Co-Founder Michael Condrey told OXM.
He said that having three years to work on the game instead of the usual two provides a big advantage.
“The fact that we’ve had three years to develop our new tech, three years to learn the console has been really exciting. So we’re still optimizing, but what I can tell you is that we’re definitely ahead of where the franchise was last year,” Condrey said.
The skeptical part of me has to say that doesn’t sound like 1080p. If it was going to be 1080p, they’d probably say so. But better is better, so any improvement will be welcome.
