Call of Duty fans still playing Advanced Warfare have been asking its developer, Sledgehammer Games, why there haven’t been any new guns offered for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. (They’re also still playing PS3 and 360.)
New weapons have been announced for Playstation 4, XBox One and PC, but there has been no announcement for last-gen consoles, which was curious because Sledgehammer promised every version of Advanced Warfare would contain equal content, sans graphical differences.
Sledgehammer boss Michael Condry had to sheepishly admit they hit the memory wall without trying to. “Many of you have asked about [the guns] coming to prior-gen consoles,” he said. “Since launch, we’ve been committed to delivering a seamless experience between the two console generations and PC. We have hit a hard memory limit on last-generation consoles. This memory limit prevents us from adding more weapons to those platforms. We don’t like it any more than you, because we care about Advanced Warfare players on all platforms, but it’s a limitation that is outside of our control.”
Call of Duty fans playing on last gen will still receive the next DLC pack for Advanced Warfare. But it may come with less toys.
