Gears Of War 4 Announced; First Gameplay Footage Shown
This morning, near the tail end of Microsoft’s E3 press conference, the world’s first glimpse at Gears of War 4, or “Gears 4,” was revealed — and we got to see quite a lot for a game that isn’t due out for at least a year.
Attendees were shown a demo of two players, one male and one female, cautiously making their way through a ruined structure in search of something unspecified. They run into some glowing blobby earwax substance, which the man hits with the butt of his gun even though the woman specifically told him not to do it (hey, the game gave us a button prompt and an icon and everything….don’t blame us, lady).
Then, after a few dark hallways, they reach the monsters: nasty, beefy guys with Cthulhu tendrils for mouths. They run around, blast a few, and then one tackles the man despite his best efforts and gets REAL close — and that’s all we got; the screen cut to the Gears logo.
Gears of War 4 is being targeted for a Holiday 2016 release on XBox One.
